VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
NETWORKING:
We are praying for people who can help us build awareness and network in varying capacities. If you can help us meet new pastors or mission directors, students preparing for ministry, or any communities which might help us build this organization up for the sake of Christ, we would be extremely grateful your help!
BOARD MEMBER:
Board members who are experienced, qualified, and committed to helping us accomplish the vision are a great asset for helping us make wise and godly decisions. They are also helpful when seeking grants from foundations and corporations. If you are someone with unique qualifications and the enthusiasm and follow through to help us make our vision a reality, we would deeply appreciate your prayerful consideration in joining us.
We have spots available for board members who wish to be proactive in helping the ministry generate awareness and funds.
Minimum board duties include:
• Attending quarterly board meetings to discuss and vote on decisions.
• Praying and fasting the first Sunday and/or Monday of every month.
Additional help we are praying for:
• People willing to raise support from their personal network of churches/friends
• A spokesperson to network and fundraise while we serve abroad
• Someone to arrange opportunities to set up a booth at Christian events and travel to those events
• Someone to research and write grant proposals
• A treasurer/bookkeeper who can report to the board
Helpful experience and qualifications:
• Board experience
• Pastoral experience
• Experience in missions
• Financial experience, including management and fundraising
• A heart for the nations
• A heartfelt ambition to reach Ukraine with the Gospel
• Knowledge of legalities and logistics in Eastern Europe, Ukraine, or Odessa
SECRETARY:
We are seeking someone to help us with needed correspondence by mail while we are serving abroad. This includes stuffing and sending out bi-annual newsletters (frequency and amount may or may not increase in the future). They would also pick up our checks once a month in the Hawthorne District in Portland, OR, scan and email us copies, and deposit them at Point West Credit Union near the Lloyd Center.
Currently we have around 500 people on our bi-annual mailing list. All of our newsletter and stationary printing is done through Cedar House Media in downtown Beaverton, OR. We also have a laser printer you are welcome to keep at your place of residence if needed. You may be able to assemble a team of people to help you expedite the letter stuffing.
Duties would include professional and timely correspondence by email to help us stay on top of any mail received and needing to be sent. Preferably this person would be able to do this over the long-term.
FULL-TIME MINISTRY POSITIONS:
We are earnestly praying for a team of individuals to join us on the mission field. They should be mature, equipped and qualified Christians and pass an application process. This does not mean however, they have to be fully prepared in every way, much of what we learn in missions is implemented on the field and we can help guide you in this and train you in the culture.
Being as one of our greatest outreaches is English Club, all missionaries with Mission Impact Alliance will attend the English Clubs and Camps, unless of course there is a good reason to be absent. This may involve helping us prepare, or it may involve simply being present and leading activities, discussions and relationship building.
All missionaries with Mission Impact Alliance will regularly be encouraged and expected to be intentional about connecting with individuals one-on-one for discipleship and relationship building. We make a point to sacrifice our own time, comforts and resources to make this a priority.
In light of prevalent non-Gospel teaching and the number of unhealthy churches in Ukraine, MIA’s Mission Statement is: To disciple the friends we gain in Ukraine with Gospel clarity. Our ultimate aim is to disciple others in a clear understanding of the Gospel and the various ways we may or may not be fleshing that out in our everyday lives, growing in having our identity in Christ, exposing and combating idolatry, killing sin, knowing how to read the Bible well, and how to pray.
MISSIONARY OPPORTUNITIES WITH MISSION IMPACT ALLIANCE:
• Pastor – someone who is qualified to help lead a church plant. A Russian speaker would be immensely helpful but not a must.
• Disciplers/Counselors – someone who will devote their time to pouring into individuals
• People with knowledge of power point, graphic design, audio visual, etc who can help with the load of preparation of materials would be very helpful.
• People gifted in creating and organizing activities, crafts, games, events, etc
• Athletes who can coach, organize camps and/or tournaments and integrate Christian outreach
• Teachers of English or Theology – there are opportunities to teach at a Christian University
HOW THESE POSITIONS ARE PAID:
• All full-time missionaries are expected to raise their own financial support. We can offer training and guidance in this area. Provision for the work is God’s sovereign confirmation of the call, where God guides, He provides. Those willing to do the work of prayer and support raising exemplify many of the qualities and the commitment level needed for missionaries to endure well on the field.
• Optionally people can enter missions by having a business which allows them to be mobile, doing work online of various sorts, working in the medical field, teaching English abroad, teaching as a professor abroad, etc.
• A third way, not common today but was used by the Moravians, one couple would go abroad to start a business or work and use that to support a second couple devoted full-time to the ministry. The working couple used this opportunity as an inroad into the culture.
SHORT-TERM MISSIONS:
Currently short-term missions opportunities include English Camps, A week long English Event, an apologetics conference, and homeless outreach. In the future we hope to add basketball and soccer camps. For more info on short-term missions opportunities, visit our Short-Term Missions page.
